Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy explains how SMGPR.NET ("SMGPR," "we," "us," or "our") handles information collected through smgpr.net, api.smgpr.net, email, contact forms, and project inquiries. It is written for an inquiry-based site. If a project requires access to production systems, customer data, payment tools, or regulated data, those details should be covered in a separate project agreement or data processing addendum.

Information we collect

We collect only what is reasonably needed to respond to inquiries, operate the site, and provide services:

• Contact details you submit, such as name, email address, requested service, and project details.
• Messages, estimates, support requests, and project information you choose to send by email or form.
• Technical records such as IP address, request time, browser/user agent, referrer, error logs, and anti-abuse signals.
• Local browser storage used to remember your language preference on the site.
• Limited, aggregate analytics if enabled, such as page views, referrers, device/browser type, approximate region, and campaign parameters.

Do not send passwords, private keys, payment card details, health information, government identifiers, or other sensitive information through the contact form unless we specifically ask for it through an appropriate channel.

How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

• Reviewing and responding to quote requests, project questions, and support messages.
• Preparing scopes, estimates, timelines, migrations, hosting work, or game server setup plans.
• Operating, securing, debugging, and improving the website, API, contact form, and infrastructure.
• Preventing spam, abuse, unauthorized access, fraud, and service disruption.
• Maintaining business records and complying with legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution obligations.

We do not use contact form submissions for unrelated marketing unless you ask for it or separately consent.

Analytics, cookies, and tracking

SMGPR.NET uses self-hosted Umami analytics at umami.smgpro.synology.me to understand basic site traffic and improve the public website. The analytics setup is intended to avoid advertising profiles, cross-site tracking, and unnecessary personal identifiers. Typical analytics data may include page views, referrers, browser/device type, approximate region, timestamps, and campaign parameters.

The site does not use third-party advertising pixels or sell visitor information. The site may also use local storage to remember your language preference. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not provide a separate "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. If that changes, this policy and the site controls will be updated.

How we share information

We may share information only when needed for normal operation, service delivery, or legal protection:

• Service providers such as hosting, email delivery, DNS, security, backup, monitoring, or analytics providers.
• Project-related third parties you approve or ask us to work with, such as registrars, hosting platforms, APIs, or game server providers.
• Legal, security, or compliance recipients when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, systems, users, or the public.
• A successor organization if SMGPR.NET is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of business assets.

We do not sell contact form submissions or visitor information.

Legal bases where required

Where privacy laws require a legal basis for processing, we rely on the basis that fits the activity: taking steps before a contract or performing a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected. Inquiry and project records may be kept while a request is active and afterward as needed for business records, support history, tax, legal, security, backup, or dispute-resolution reasons. Security and server logs are kept for a limited period unless needed to investigate abuse, errors, or incidents.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or information about how your data is used and shared. To make a request, email hello@smgpr.net. We may need to verify your request before acting on it, and some information may be retained when allowed or required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate for a small service website, including HTTPS, access controls, environment separation, and monitoring where practical. No website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

SMGPR.NET is intended for business and community project inquiries, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

International visitors

SMGPR.NET is operated from Puerto Rico / the United States. If you access the site from another region, your information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site, analytics, providers, or services change. The "Last updated" date will be revised when material changes are made.
